The BX series is Kubota's most popular sub-compact tractor lineup, built for homeowners and hobby farmers who need real tractor capability in a compact, easy-to-operate package. With diesel engines from 16 to 23 HP, hydrostatic drive, and compatibility with loaders, backhoes, and mid-mount mowers, the BX punches well above its size class.
Every BX runs a Kubota 3-cylinder diesel engine — the same engine family used in commercial equipment worldwide. Diesel means more torque at low RPM than a gas engine of similar horsepower, which translates to better performance under load when running a mower deck, loader, or tiller.
Kubota's Swift-Tach system lets you attach or remove the front loader without tools in about a minute. Drive up, flip the levers, and you're ready to work — no wrenches, no hydraulic line disconnects. When the loader's off, you have an unobstructed front end for mowing or other tasks.
The BX23S is the only sub-compact tractor on the market that comes factory-equipped with a backhoe, loader, and ROPS as a complete package. The Swift-Connect backhoe mounts and dismounts without tools, giving you real excavation capability that you can stow away when you don't need it.
BX tractors accept Kubota mid-mount mower decks that bolt underneath the tractor frame, turning your loader tractor into a mowing machine. The belly-mount design keeps the deck protected and centered for an even cut, and you can run the mower with or without the loader attached.
Every BX comes standard with 4WD and a 2-range hydrostatic transmission. There are no gears to shift — just press the pedal and go. The combination of 4WD traction and infinite speed control makes these tractors confident on slopes, soft ground, and in tight spaces where precise maneuvering matters.
