MT4 Series Utility
The MT4 is LS Tractor's core utility tractor series, delivering 58–73 gross horsepower on a purpose-built utility platform. Available in ROPS and cab variants with Synchro Shuttle or Power Shuttle transmission choices, the MT4 is designed for operators running loader, hay, rotary cutter, and row-crop work on small-to-mid-size farms. The series spans from the MT46158/XU6168 generation (58–68 HP, 16×16 Synchro Shuttle) to the current MT463/MT473 (63–73 HP, with Power Shuttle option). At its price point, the MT4 competes directly with the Kubota M Series and John Deere 5E Series at a substantial cost advantage.

The MT4 series runs the LS L4C25-T — a 4-cylinder, 152.85 cu in (2.504L) turbocharged diesel engine rated at 63 HP (MT463) or 73 HP (MT473). PTO output is 54.1 HP on the 63 HP variant and 62.9 HP on the 73 HP variant. Both meet Tier 4 Final emissions standards with a 2,500 RPM rated speed and a 24.3 gallon fuel tank that supports extended full-day operation without refueling.

Synchro Shuttle or Power Shuttle — 16×16
Every MT4 model comes with a 16-forward, 16-reverse gearbox, with the choice of Synchro Shuttle (standard models) or Power Shuttle (PS/CPS variants). The Synchro Shuttle uses a mechanical shuttle lever for direction changes, while the Power Shuttle's electro-hydraulic clutch pack handles direction changes under load — preferred for intensive loader work and repetitive forward/reverse tasks. Both deliver the full 16×16 gear spread for precise ground speed matching across implements.
