MT3 Series Compact
The MT3 is LS Tractor's upper-range compact series, spanning 35–57 gross horsepower across 22 model configurations. Powered by LS's own L3C19-T CRDI turbocharged engine, the MT3 competes directly with the Kubota L and M-Series and John Deere 3 and 4 Series at a substantial price advantage. With three transmission options — HST, Synchro Shuttle, and the signature Powerclutch — the MT3 is the most configurable compact tractor in its class.
LS L3C19-T CRDI Turbocharged Engine
The MT3 runs LS's own L3C19-T engine — a 3-cylinder, 114.7 cu in (1.879L), direct-injection (CRDI) turbocharged diesel meeting Tier 4 Final without a diesel particulate filter. This is an LS-designed engine, not a third-party sourced unit, built to CRDI standards that reduce noise, vibration, and fuel consumption compared to older indirect-injection designs. The engine powers the full 35–57 HP range depending on calibration.

No other compact tractor series in this HP class offers three distinct transmission options on the same platform. The MT3 comes in HST (H), Synchro Shuttle (E), and Powerclutch (PCT/PCTC) variants. The Powerclutch is LS's electro-hydraulic clutch integrated into the Synchro Shuttle gearbox — it lets you change gears without fully depressing the clutch pedal, combining the smoothness of a power-shift with the efficiency of a mechanical transmission.
